About Tammy

Teacher, student, environmentalist, activist, traveler, homebody, yogini, daughter, wife, sister, friend and child of the world…

Tammy could most simply be defined as a ‘perpetual student’, although she has made teaching her profession. With degrees in Education, Comparative Religious Studies and a RYT200 qualification, Tammy is beginning to assimilate her knowledge and skills in an attempt to discover and reveal the beauty all around us.

Through teaching she has discovered just how much there is to know about life, the world we live in and the joy of sharing with others. She has also discovered an important facet of herself; that she is most passionate when working towards a cause bigger than herself.

Tammy’s love for yoga has bloomed over the years, and unlike most others who find their joy of yoga through the physical benefits it offers, she approached it academically first, her studies taking her throughout East Asia. Yoga continues to teach Tammy valuable lessons and she remains it’s humbled student.

Although South African, Tammy currently resides in Japan where she lectures at a Buddhist Girls College and teaches yoga. Her current hobby and passion is raising money for the SEVA challenge, an NPO dedicated to assisting and educating South African children orphaned by AIDS.
