Jiyugaoka Residents’ Center


Jiyugaoka Residents' Center (Jiyugaoka Jumin Center), 1-24-12 Jiyugaoka, Meguro-ku, TokyoJiyugaoka is one of the most popular residential areas in Tokyo. This municipal government-run hall has Japanese style tatami mat rooms. The tatami mats give a relaxed Japanese ambiance and are ideal for yoga in that they provides extra cushioning.

Directions

From Jiyugaoka Station:

  1. Come out of Jiyugaoka Station’s main exit (bus rotary side)
  2. With your back to the station, to your right you will see a street with a hardware store and jewelery shop on either side — go straight down this street
  3. Turn left at the second small intersection
  4. Find the white building next to the Kumano Shrine (熊野神社)(there is a Konami Sports Gym and Bikram Yoga across the road)
  5. Come up to the 3rd floor to the tatami mat rooms
