This municipal government-run hall has Japanese style tatami mat rooms. The tatami mats give a relaxed Japanese ambiance and are ideal for yoga in that they provides extra cushioning.
Quite a number of yoga teachers use this facility to hold classes and workshops because it is located in a fashionable area with close access from Ebisu and Daikanyama Stations. There is no shortage of places to go after class for a cup of tea or bite to eat.
This facility is quite old and is scheduled to be shut down and rebuilt in 2011/2012. Once complete the new building is expected to provide a much better environment for yoga practice. In the meantime, the existing building is kept clean, tidy and well maintained.
